Steps Ahead

George Washington 6 Steps Ahead

GW6 Steps Ahead is in full swing.
The community is alive and the relationships between the youth and their mentors are blooming after a long summer of fun and sun.

With the summer complete and the students back at school, the focus has turned to how to bring those grades up and make this semester at school look like no other has!  Armed with this question of how do we do things differently the whole community is exploring what is inspiring to them and what goals are compelling enough to change the status quo.  While the youth focus on how things at school can be different, the mentors have turned their focus toward their personal goals; everything from starting their own business to working on relationships with their parents.  The community is buzzing with new possibilities and potential.

Manual 4 Steps Ahead

Manual 4 Moves on to Touchstone

On September 19th and 20th, the youth and mentors of Manual 4 will complete their year of Steps Ahead, and many will move on to Touchstone. At the Tivoli Center at Auraria Campus, a weekend of activities for mentors, youth, and families will bring the year to a powerful completion and set pairs up to challenge themselves for a new year of Touchstone. Mentors and youth will participate in a variety of individual and team activities over the course of the weekend.

This year in Touchstone, youth and mentors will be going to work on the relationships in their lives. They will also be examining their relationships to their communities by creating a service learning project.
