Most think of a one time or multi-year cash contribution when donating to a non-profit. However there are many creative and potentially financially advantageous ways to give to Colorado Youth at Risk. One way is to donate an appreciated asset like stock, mutual funds or Real Estate. You the donor receive a tax deduction for the full current market value of the appreciated asset AND you avoid the capital gains tax on that asset. Another way to give is to name Colorado Youth at Risk as a beneficiary or partial beneficiary on a Life Insurance Policy. There are many ways to structure a gift like this so please consult with a legal or estate planning professional. For more questions on how to creatively give to CYAR, call or email Jon Roberts at 303-623-9140 or

Sterling program nears launch |
|
Game Plan for Success Colorado Youth at Risk expansion is in FULL effect!
The Sterling program Game Plan for Success is nearing its launch! The staff in Sterling has been busy spreading the word in their community. They are the topic of the town with yard signs in front of local businesses, in community member’s yards and in church windows. The staff has been guests on the local radio show KSTC/KNNG numerous times and has recruited the host to be a mentor! T-shirts and hats have been ordered for the entire Game Plan for Success community of mentors and youth. The local school district has found an office space for Game Plan for Success at the high school and the team is well on their way to enrolling 20 freshman youth for the program which launches October 29th!
Great work Sterling!

Welcome New Board Members |
|
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. In what has been an admittedly difficult time for the US and the rest of the world, Colorado Youth at Risk has thrived. One key element to our success this year has been the addition of some fantastic folks to our board of directors. Since the beginning of the year, we have brought on six passionate individuals who will help shape our future. They are; Christian Hendrickson (Sherman & Howard), Michele Klein (Liveperson, Inc.), Carissa McCabe (Ground Floor Media), Marisa Murgolo (University of Colorado Hospital), Donna Price-Lauder (healthcare director), and Tarek Saad (Jin, Schauer & Saad). Please join me in welcoming them to our board and remind them of the great expectations we have of their efforts on our community’s behalf!
